Trump's first move to rip apart China's efforts to infiltrate the southern border

 

President-elect Donald Trump has announced plans to implement significant policy measures aimed at curbing illegal immigration and drug trafficking, particularly focusing on the southern U.S. border. These initiatives include imposing tariffs on neighboring countries and initiating large-scale deportation operations.


Tariffs on Mexico and Canada


Trump has pledged to impose a 25% tariff on all products imported from Mexico and Canada immediately upon taking office. He asserts that these tariffs will remain until both countries take effective action to halt the flow of illegal drugs, especially fentanyl, and unauthorized migrants into the United States. Trump stated, "On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ... ."

In response, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum indicated that Mexico might retaliate with its own tariffs if the U.S. proceeds with these import duties. She emphasized the need for a collaborative approach to address the underlying issues of drug trafficking and migration.

Trump has also announced plans to commence "the largest deportation operation in American history" on his first day back in the Oval Office. He emphasized the need to close the border to illegal aliens and stop what he describes as an invasion of the country. Trump stated, "On my first day back in the Oval Office, I will sign a historic slate of executive orders to close our border to illegal aliens and stop the invasion of our country."

Focus on China


Additionally, Trump has expressed intentions to impose an extra 10% tariff on Chinese products, criticizing Beijing for failing to curb the export of fentanyl to the United States. He noted that previous discussions with Chinese representatives about implementing strict penalties for drug dealers have not yielded the desired results. Trump remarked, "Representatives of China told me ... ."
